Leisah is a singer-songwriter in Phoenix. After nearly two decades of writing about her local community through the lens of a newspaper journalist, she is now pursuing her lifelong dream of releasing her songs out into the world.
In 2021, she put together 52 Weeks in 2021, where she posted one of her songs each week to share her songwriting journey with others in hopes of encouraging others to pursue their dreams. She enjoys sharing people’s stories, through both songs and stories.
Leisah received an Artist Opportunity Grant in 2022 from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Arizona Community Foundation to release her first song, “Our Home,” released under the name Leisah B, and is a member of the Arizona Songwriters Association. Some of the many artists who inspired her through the years include The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette and Garbage.
